Our Tips
So how can your business support the local business community as well as winning more business locally yourselves?
Well, firstly consider the companies you currently deal with. Are there any services you currently receive that you are not 100% happy with? If so, why not look for local businesses that can offer the same service. Maybe they can match your existing price or will simply offer a better service – if speed of service is an issue, remember that a local company will be able to get to you much quicker than one from outside of North or North East Lincolnshire.
Of course, this site can give you a great starting point for local companies to deal with, but if you can’t find what you want there’s the Yellow Pages, Google or even good old word of mouth – speak to your friends and colleagues and see who they recommend.
So, consider the following services that your business may receive and make sure that you are dealing local:
- > Auditors
- > Caterers
- > Insurance
- > IT Services
- > Printers
- > Window Cleaners
And that’s just a start!
So how you can you win more business locally?
This of course very much depends on the service you offer and whether or not you have a budget to spend on promoting your products and services? However, there are some very simple things you could consider to increase your local business...
Pass on your local savings - offer a discount to local businesses if your service costs you less to deliver locally (maybe because of lower travelling costs)
Network – there are plenty of local business networking opportunities in and around the local area where you can meet other businesses (try Lincolnshire Chamber of Commmerce as a starter)
Promote you local benefits – if dealing local is not only a benefit to you, but also to your potential customers, make sure they know it! Maybe your service is quicker because your local or maybe you have some local reference sites where you can display your recent success stories?
Use your marketing budget locally – there are plenty of opportunities to win business locally and most companies will prefer a local service, so use your marketing budget wisely and promote yourself in the local area in place of pricey national campaigns
